The National Examinations Council (NECO) on Tuesday released the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External results, saying more than 80 percent of candidates scored at least five credits.
NECO Registrar Prof. Dantani Wushishi announced the figures at the council’s headquarters in Minna.
“It is my pleasure to declare the 2025 SSCE External Results released,” he said, adding that candidates can check results on the NECO website using their registration number.
NECO said 96,979 candidates registered for the external exam and 95,160 actually sat the tests across 16 subjects.
In English Language, 93,425 candidates sat and 73,167 (78.32 percent) obtained credit and above.
In Mathematics, 93,330 sat and 85,256 (91.35 percent) scored credit and above.
The registrar told journalists a video of the announcement was also posted on NECO’s official X account and confirmed that results are available at www.neco.gov.ng.
He urged schools and students to download slips and report any issues to NECO’s help channels.
NECO also said it will publish a full performance breakdown by state and centre soon, and asked the public to verify results only through official NECO channels.
