The Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress, are set to hold a powerful solidarity rally in Abuja on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
The march to the Federal Capital Development Authority secretariat is meant to show support for the Joint Unions Action Committee (JUAC) and other affected workers, the unions said in a joint statement.
“This rally is to publicly affirm that ‘an injury to one is an injury to all,’” the statement said.
The TUC and NLC have argued the government has delayed implementing demands from health and FCT workers, including the 2021 CONHESS salary review.
In late January the unions issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Federal Ministry of Health over the delayed CONHESS rollout.
“Health workers have waited long enough,” the unions said.
Union chiefs urged members to keep the rally peaceful and lawful.
“History has taught us that rights are never gifted — they are won through collective resistance and principled struggle,” the unions said in their call-out, asking affiliates to converge on the FCDA secretariat on Tuesday.
Organisers said the action is a show of unity with JUAC and a warning that labour will not abandon its own.
Authorities and organisers are expected to meet on logistics and security ahead of the rally.
Interested Nigerians were asked to check union channels for updates.
