Opposition figures, including Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Rauf Aregbesola, and Aminu Tambuwal, gathered in Abuja to stage a protest against what they described as the perceived partisanship of Nigeria’s electoral body.

The African Democratic Congress protested against INEC for not recognising the party leadership led by David Mark.

A senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Tambuwal, said the demonstration, backed by members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), is a peaceful and patriotic move aimed at safeguarding democracy and ensuring credible, free, and transparent elections.

Obi has called on Nigerians to resist a one-party system and defend democratic values, while Amaechi accused authorities of limiting political competition, warning that economic hardship and rising living costs remain key concerns among citizens.
