The Federal Government has announced the closure of the Third Mainland Bridge from midnight on Saturday, October 21, to midnight on Sunday, October 22, for repairs.
The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Olukorede Kesha, made this known in a statement on Thursday.
She said the 24-hour maintenance would be on the bridge's critical areas, before comprehensive rehabilitation.
“To alleviate the pains currently being experienced on the bridge, the Ministry would be carrying out palliative works on the most critically failed sections along the Adeniji-bound carriageway on Sunday, Oct. 22 preparatory to the comprehensive repair works,” Kesha said.
The Federal Controller of Works urged motorists to cooperate with traffic officials who will manage vehicular diversions during the maintenance.
She encouraged motorists to use alternative routes.
