International institutions like the United Nations, World Trade organization, European Union etc., all have a huge role to play in getting the entire world back to its feet in the post-pandemic era.

This was the conclusion of stakeholders present at the fourth edition of the World Youth Forum which took place recently in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

The annual event themed ‘BACK TOGETHER’ is holding for the first time since the pandemic started in 2019.

On the bid to get the entire world vaccinated in the post-pandemic phase, AMB. Nasser Kamel, Secretary-General, Union for the Mediterranean, Egypt, noted that the “crucial need to have international and regional efforts to provide Covid vaccine, to ensure the collective protection from the infection.”

Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation, Rania A. Al-Mashat, also called on the private sector and the civil society to play a “pivotal role in the recovery from the Covid Pandemic repercussions” adding that it is the only way out.

On his part, George Elombi, Executive Vice President, Corporate Governance and Legal Services, African Export-Import Bank, also called for sub-regional cooperation in post-pandemic recovery noting that when the “Covid crisis erupted, the international multilateralism efforts did not come to fruition efficiently until the soft regional cooperation took place”
