Seven Rescued as Fire Ravages Parts of WAEC Headquarters in Lagos

The Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) says no fewer than six persons were rescued from an early morning fire outbreak at WAEC headquarters in the Jibowu area. 

The acting director of the service, Beatrice Makinde told Nigeria Info that the fire has been successfully put out with the help of the Lagos State Fire Service.

She said the six persons rescued from the fire suffered various degrees of burns and are being treated at the health center inside the WAEC premises.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) says investigations revealed the fire was caused by a power surge that started on the third floor of the 12-floor building.
