The Presidential Election Petition court has given the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku; and his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi, three weeks to prove their cases regarding the outcome of the 2023 Presidential Election.

This five-man tribunal panel headed by Justice Haruna Tsammani gave the deadline at the resumed hearing of the court on Tuesday morning.

The tribunal pointed out that the directive ensures a speedy hearing of the petition and added that no oral examination of witnesses and that the adoption of witness statements will be required.

The court also consolidated all the petitions against Bola Tinubu's declaration as Nigeria’s president and is to commence hearing on 30 May.

Meanwhile, the court ordered the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to defend Tinubu's election victory within five days.
