Arsenal have won the Premier League title for the first time in 22 years.

Mikel Arteta’s side secured the 2025/26 championship with one game remaining in the season, following Manchester City's 1-1 draw at Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

Arsenal had put pressure on their rivals twenty-four hours earlier by defeating Burnley 1-0 on Monday, thanks to a second-half header from Kai Havertz.

That victory meant Manchester City needed a win to keep the title race alive.

However, Bournemouth took an early lead through Eli Junior Kroupi, and despite a late equaliser from Erling Haaland, City could not find a winning goal.

The result leaves Arsenal five points clear at the top of the table and mathematically out of reach.

The confirmation of the title brought thousands of fans to the streets outside the Emirates Stadium to celebrate.

The victory marks a significant milestone for Arteta, who took over management of the club in December 2019 when the team was in 10th place.

He is the first manager to win the league for Arsenal since Arsène Wenger in 2004.

Arsenal's campaign was built on defensive consistency. The center-back partnership of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães helped the team keep 19 clean sheets, ensuring goalkeeper David Raya won the Golden Glove award.

Squad depth also played a major role, with players like Eberechi Eze, Martin Zubimendi, and forward Viktor Gyökeres providing key contributions throughout the year.

Arsenal led the standings for 200 days of the season, quickly recovering the top spot after briefly dropping behind City in April by winning four consecutive matches.

The team will finish their domestic season this weekend against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

After that, Arsenal will turn their attention to the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain next week, where they have the opportunity to win their first European Cup.
