Spanish giants FC Barcelona have completed the signing of Nigerian-born German forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund.
Adeyemi joins Barcelona on a long-term contract reportedly running until 2031, with the transfer fee believed to be in the region of €22 million plus add-ons.
Dortmund are also understood to have included a sell-on clause in the deal.
The 24-year-old winger, born in Germany to a Nigerian father, is widely known for his pace, direct attacking style, and ability to stretch opposition defenses.
He has also been part of the German national team setup.
Adeyemi was notably absent from Germany’s squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, missing out on the tournament selection despite his attacking qualities.
He has previously spoken about his Nigerian roots, once highlighting his love for Nigerian cuisine, including fufu, in a comment that resonated with fans back home.
The move sees Adeyemi reunite with Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick, who previously worked with the player at international level.
Barcelona continue their squad rebuild with a focus on adding speed and attacking depth, with Adeyemi viewed as a strategic addition rather than a marquee signing.
The club will now be hoping his development under Flick translates into consistent performances as they strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
