The River State government is demolishing the state assembly complex on Wednesday morning.
About seven excavators are knocking down the building. No reason has been given by any government official on why the Assembly complex is being pulled down.
Meanwhile, the Edison Ehie faction of the Assembly is sitting at the Government House in Port Harcourt as an alternative meeting venue.
The member representing Opobo/Nkoro State Constituency, Adolphus Timothy Orubienimigha, has been elected as the Leader of the Edison Ehie-led lawmakers.
The state governor, Siminalayi Fubara is presenting the 2024 budget at the sitting.
