Nigerians are awaiting the outcome of the DSS' investigation into allegations of abuse of office against suspended EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa.

Bawa was invited by the Department of State Security (DSS) on Thursday to discuss ongoing investigative matters.

This comes after President Tinubu authorized his suspension following “weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against him.”

The DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, in a statement, disclosed that Bawa arrived at DSS headquarters a few hours ago, “the invitation relates to some investigative activities concerning him.”

Recall that on June 9, President Tinubu suspended Godwin Emefiele as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and ordered an investigation into his activities.

Emefiele has since been in the custody of the DSS “for some investigative reasons”.
