One of the suspected attackers of the Igueben train station in Edo State has been arrested.

The state’s Commissioner for Communications and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, disclosed this at a press briefing in Benin City on Sunday.

He confirmed that 32 persons were kidnapped but that one of them escaped.

“After 32 persons were kidnapped, the Police, vigilante, and local hunters swung into action, combing the bushes around the vicinity. One of the kidnapped victims was able to escape,” he said.

The attack is coming 10 months after a terrorist attack on another train in Kaduna State.

More than a dozen people were killed in the 28 March 2022 attack and scores were abducted.
