The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission says it recovered N1.233 trillion and secured 10,872 convictions between October 1, 2023, and July 31, 2026.
The commission disclosed the figures in a video posted on its official X account on Thursday, highlighting its activities during the 34-month period under the chairmanship of Ola Olukoyede.
According to the EFCC, it received 49,673 petitions during the period. Of these, 39,615 cases were investigated, while 14,476 cases were filed in court, leading to 10,872 convictions.
The commission said the cases covered several forms of financial crime, including advance fee fraud, cybercrime, money laundering, bank fraud and economic governance fraud.
It described petitions as the entry point for its investigations, adding that the figures represented cases in which financial trails were uncovered and funds recovered.
The EFCC said the N1.233 trillion recovered during the period formed part of its efforts to combat economic and financial crimes and protect public resources.
The commission also said the figures highlighted the work of its investigators and prosecutors in pursuing financial crimes, adding that its fight against economic and financial crimes would continue.
