Nigeria’s Falconets booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after a commanding 3-0 victory over England in their Round of 16 clash on Wednesday.
Nigeria made a bright start and took the lead in the 8th minute through Tosin Rafiu, who finished off a well-worked move to give the Falconets an early advantage.
England were handed a quick chance to respond after conceding when they were awarded a penalty, but goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma produced a crucial save to deny the English side and preserve Nigeria’s lead.

The result confirms Nigeria’s place in the quarter-finals of the tournament, where they will face Canada in what is expected to be a tougher test as both sides push for a semi-final spot.
