The Federal Ministry of Education has reaffirmed that all Federal Unity Colleges nationwide will resume academic activities on Monday, September 14, 2026, as scheduled.
The ministry said necessary arrangements had been put in place to ensure a safe and smooth start to the new academic session, assuring students, parents, guardians and other stakeholders of the safety of school communities.
In a statement issued Friday by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folashade, on the ministry’s X handle, Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa said the safety and wellbeing of students and staff remained central to the Federal Government’s commitment to providing a secure and conducive learning environment.
Alausa said relevant security agencies had been informed of the resumption arrangements and were maintaining heightened vigilance around the colleges and their immediate environments.
He directed school authorities to maintain close coordination with security agencies and other relevant authorities to ensure an orderly and secure resumption.
The minister urged parents and guardians to remain calm, rely on official information and proceed with preparations for their children and wards to return to their respective Federal Unity Colleges on Monday.
The ministry said it would continue to monitor developments and take necessary measures, in collaboration with relevant authorities, to ensure the safe resumption of academic activities across all Federal Unity Colleges.
