The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, has met with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to discuss ways to deepen reforms and accelerate infrastructure development in Abuja.
According to a statement, both ministers held a bilateral meeting during the week aimed at strengthening collaboration in support of the FCT’s infrastructure renewal programme.
They commended ongoing efforts to complete abandoned projects across the territory, describing them as critical to improving living conditions and unlocking economic opportunities for residents.
The ministers also reviewed plans to harmonise tax administration in the FCT to eliminate multiple taxation and boost revenue generation under the new tax reform framework.
The statement said the meeting forms part of broader efforts to align fiscal reforms with development priorities and support sustainable growth in the nation’s capital.
