The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the first batch of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with 632,788 candidates able to access their scores.

The results, which were released on Friday night, cover candidates who sat the examination on April 16, 2026, the first day of the nationwide exercise.

Observers have described the development as one of the fastest result releases in the board’s history.

According to JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, candidates can check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number used during registration.

He clarified that, for now, candidates can only view their scores, while the option to print result slips will be enabled later.

The 2026 UTME, which began on April 16, is scheduled to run until April 22 across various centres nationwide, with more results expected to be released in batches.

JAMB also issued a strong warning against result falsification and manipulation, stressing that tampering with official scores is a criminal offence.

The board revealed that it has already arrested two candidates and one parent for allegedly falsifying UTME results using artificial intelligence and other electronic methods. It warned that anyone found guilty of such acts would face prosecution.
