Zamfara Gov. Dauda Lawal has launched a 95-kilometre road project and five bridges in Tsafe Local Government Area, saying the infrastructure will improve security operations and boost economic activity.
Lawal flagged off the project Sunday, covering roads linking Yandoton Daji, Cediya, Doka, Yan Waren Daji, Hayin Alhaji Bedi, Unguwar Joji and Yankuzo to Tsafe.
The project will be built in two phases, with SKY Construction Company handling 47 kilometres and Setraco Construction Company Ltd. taking the remaining 48 kilometres.
Lawal said the roads serve predominantly agricultural communities and will improve the movement of goods and security personnel.
“Reconstructing this road will enhance the movement of goods and the mobility of security agencies, thereby improving operational capacity and response to threats or attacks,” he said.

He said the project is part of his administration’s broader infrastructure renewal program to reconnect communities and address longstanding road deficits.
Lawal directed the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to ensure strict supervision, quality control and compliance with approved engineering standards.
“Zamfara State expects value for money, quality craft, and infrastructure capable of withstanding the test of time,” he said.
