Former presidential candidate, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the Accord Party.
Olawepo-Hashim confirmed that he had formally joined the party, adding that his political structure had already begun nationwide mobilisation ahead of the next general election.
According to him, more than one million supporters have so far been moved into the Accord Party as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence across the country.
The presidential hopeful also dismissed claims that the Accord Party would not field a candidate in 2027, insisting that no individual has the authority to decide who becomes Nigeria’s president.
He said political power ultimately rests with Nigerians and expressed confidence that voters would determine the country’s next leadership at the polls.
Olawepo-Hashim added that his ambition is driven by plans to offer what he described as a credible alternative focused on national unity, economic recovery and inclusive development ahead of the 2027 elections.
