The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the death of three security personnel following a security incident at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru-Jos.
In a statement, Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, said the incident occurred early Tuesday morning and involved security personnel on duty at the institute.
The command said the Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah, has deployed additional security personnel to the area, while patrols have been intensified to prevent further security breaches.
Police said the situation has been brought under control, with normal activities now restored around the institute.
The command added that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and continue their lawful activities.
