Police repelled an attack on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Monday morning.
The attackers torched a part of the building around 3 am before police officers shot and killed three of them.
The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mike Abbatam, said two firebombs were recovered from the scene.
This is happening eight days after another INEC office was attacked in the Orlu Local Government Area of the state.
The commission’s offices have similarly been attacked in Ebonyi, Osun, and Ogun States in the last four weeks.
