Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on Nigerians to embrace national unity, peaceful coexistence and collective sacrifice as the country marks Eid-el-Kabir.

In his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message, Shettima said the values of faith, obedience, sacrifice and compassion remain essential to Nigeria’s stability and development under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He urged citizens to reflect on the lessons of the season by reaching out to the less privileged and strengthening bonds of brotherhood across ethnic, religious and political divides.

The Vice President said national development cannot be achieved in an atmosphere of division and mistrust, adding that Nigerians must unite to confront insecurity, poverty and other national challenges.

He noted that the Federal Government remains committed to economic reforms, job creation, security improvement and expanding opportunities for citizens.

Shettima said the ongoing reforms, though demanding, are necessary to build a more stable and prosperous future for the country.

He also assured Nigerians that efforts to restore peace and security will continue, while commending the sacrifices of members of the armed forces and security agencies.

According to him, Nigeria is on a path of recovery and sustainable development despite current challenges.
