Terror Alert: FCT Authorities Assure Residents of Their Safety

The Federal Capital Territory Executive Committee has reassured the residents of the territory of their safety, following multiple security alerts issued by the United States and the United Kingdom.

Speaking at the 12th meeting of the committee in Gwarinpa I District, Abuja, a representative of the FCT minister, Muhammad Bello, said adequate security arrangements have been put in place to sustain law and order.

Mallam Bello was represented by the FCT Permanent Secretary, Olusade Adesola.

He said security agencies were combing the nooks and crannies of the FCT to fish out criminals.

He also urged residents of the FCT to cooperate with security agencies by volunteering useful and timely information that will assist in nipping any form of criminality in the bud.”

Travel advisories and security alerts issued by the US and UK to their nationals living in Nigeria had generated tension, fear, and panic among Abuja residents.
