Tertiary Institutions Exempt from IPPIS

The Federal Executive Council has authorized the exemption of universities and other tertiary institutions from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

The minister of education, Tahir Mamman explained that the council approved it as part of measures to ensure the efficient management of the nation's University system.

He said the council further approved other sundry memos on education, including funds for the conduct of the forthcoming National Examination Council (NECO) examination.

The Federal Executive Council also approved a N4.1 billion technical support services contract with a Chinese company to maintain the new terminals of four international airports in Nigeria for five years, starting with the Lagos International Airport.

The minister of aviation and aerospace development, Festus Keyamo announced this after Wednesday's council meeting.

He added that FEC also approved the purchase of navigational equipment worth over N2 billion for the Port Harcourt airport to enhance communication and airspace safety.
