UN Food Summit: Shettima Represents Tinubu In Rome

Vice President Kashim Shettima is in Rome to represent President Bola Tinubu at the United Nations Food Systems Summit.

He was met at Leonardo Da Vinci Airport at 7:45 pm Italian time by Nigerian diplomats, including the Nigerian ambassador, Mfawa Omini Abam, and the president of the Nigerian community in Rome, Chima Ibezim.

Shettima will join other global leaders at the summit with the theme, "Transforming Food Systems for People, Planet and Prosperity."

The event is being organized in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, and the World Food Programme, and will run from Monday 24 July to Wednesday 26 July.

VP Shettima will travel to St. Petersburg in Russia, after the summit, to represent President Tinubu at the Russia-Africa Summit scheduled for Wednesday 26 July to Saturday 29 July.

This is his first foreign trip since assuming office as vice president.
