No law stops the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from effecting arrest on any premises.

No law stops the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from effecting arrest on any premises.

That's the position of the Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren.

Uwujaren while reacting to several reports of the agencies raid on hotels and apartments, stated that the law allows the agency to go after internet fraudsters no matter the location.

He said the commission carries out operations regularly which he said are targeted at internet fraudsters.

Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC further stated that the issue of raids on hotels "is not a trend."

You'd recall that the EFCC recently carried out a raid on the home of a former Big Brother Naija ‘Lockdown Season’ housemate, Dorathy Bachor.

However, the EFCC in reaction to the claims said: “they were refused entry, for several minutes by Bachor’s sister.”

“The operatives were left with no choice than to force their way in, lest suspects escape or destroy vital evidence.”
