The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says its governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, will present his manifesto for the 2027 election on Friday, Oct. 30.
Musiliu Obanikoro, director-general of Hamzat’s campaign council, announced this at a news conference in Ikeja, Lagos.
He said the event would take place at 3 p.m. at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Arts Theatre, in Iganmu.
It will also be broadcast live on television and digital media platforms.
Obanikoro said the campaign would focus on continuity, shared progress and inclusivity, with Hamzat seeking to build on the work of previous Lagos administrations.
He highlighted the candidate’s experience in the private sector and public service, including his role as Lagos deputy governor since 2019.
The campaign director also pointed to infrastructure development, education, health care and support for businesses and young people as areas the candidate plans to advance.
Hamzat had earlier outlined policy proposals covering transportation, housing, security, technology and other sectors at an event organised with the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Oct. 13.
In a July interview with Vanguard, Hamzat said his manifesto was about 537 pages long and that his team was consulting different groups to identify priorities.
“Basically, some of the things we want to do is to even cost it as of today, so that we have a one-year, two-year, three-year plan, realistically,” he said.
Obanikoro said the manifesto would be available for public download, allowing residents to study the proposals and submit feedback and suggestions.
The presentation comes as political parties prepare for the 2027 Lagos governorship election, with candidates expected to explain their plans for addressing the state’s challenges.
