Dancer and entertainer Iweh Pascal Odinaka, better known as Poco Lee, has been formally charged with five sexual offences in the United Kingdom.

Snaresbrook Crown Court in London confirmed that the charges against the entertainer include one count of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.

Court administrator James Baker confirmed the charges in correspondence with journalists.

“The defendant has been charged with: Attempted rape, 2x Rape, 2x Assault by penetration,” Baker said.

The court also said a reporting restriction had been placed on the case to protect the identity of the complainant.

“There is a reporting restriction on the case provided.

"This order protects the anonymity of the complainant under section 1 of the Sexual Offences Amendment Act 1992,” Baker said.

Poco Lee is expected to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15th September for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

He is reportedly being held on remand in the UK.

The case emerged after reports of his detention began circulating in Nigeria in August.

Poco Lee had been in the UK for the Davido and Friends concert at Crystal Palace Bowl in London on 14th August.

His management has urged the public and media to avoid spreading unverified claims about the case.

“Allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been heard and determined through the appropriate legal process,” the management said.

The team also said reports linking the case to alleged drink spiking were not part of the charges before the court.

Poco Lee has not been convicted of any offence and remains presumed innocent as the legal proceedings continue.
