President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after spending six days in Lagos following his return to Nigeria from a working vacation in Europe.

The president’s aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 7:45 p.m. on Monday.

He was received by National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ibrahim Sule Dan Agundi and senior security officials.

Tinubu arrived in Lagos on 29th September after spending about four weeks in London and Paris.

He had left Abuja on 30th of August for the working vacation, which the Presidency said included official and business engagements.

Shortly after returning to Lagos, Tinubu dismissed concerns about his health and said he was ready to resume his duties.

“Ready to kick, ready to work.

"There’s nothing wrong.

"Rumour will always be emanating from politics, but the facts remain I’m here: healthy, sound and ready to go,” he said.

When asked about his vacation, the president simply said, “I enjoyed myself.”

During his Lagos stay, Tinubu addressed Nigerians on 1st October to mark the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

He also attended the national premiere of MKO, a documentary about the life and political struggle of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola and the 12th June 1993, presidential election.

On Sunday, Tinubu visited the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at the Iga Idunganran Palace on Lagos Island.

He was accompanied by Lagos governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other political figures.

The president also held meetings with government officials and political leaders during his stay.

His return to Abuja comes as the administration prepares for further government activities and as political parties begin preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The Presidency had earlier said Tinubu would hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates in Lagos ahead of the 2027 elections before returning to Abuja.
